Assessment Structure & Methods:

At Hill Spring International School, students follow a staged assessment approach:

  • The AS qualification is taken in the first year (May/June).
  • The A2 assessment is taken in the second year (May/June).
  • The English General Paper (AS) is also scheduled for the second year.

 

A Levels are assessed through a blend of written exams, coursework, and practical assessments, depending on the subject. Science subjects include laboratory practicals, while creative subjects like Art & Design involve coursework and personal projects

Scoring System:

  • Each A Level subject is graded against international benchmarks, ensuring an accurate reflection of student achievement.
  • A Level grades range from A* (highest) to E (minimum), while AS Level grades range from A to E.
  • Assessments follow international standards to ensure fairness, accuracy, and consistency worldwide.

University & Career Guidance

Our dedicated Career Counselling Team supports students at every stage, from subject selection and profile building to essay writing and interview preparation.

Subject Offered at HSlS

Students select subjects based on their interests and career goals. While some opt for four A Level subjects, most prefer three to allow for in-depth focus. The English General Paper is compulsory.
